At Bluebird Pediatric Dentistry, the safety of our patients and staff is our top priority.  We have put in place advanced protocols to make your visit safe. Please see below for a quick introduction to these steps, and do not hesitate to give us a call with any questions or concerns.

• Daily health check for team members:  Every team member will start their day with a Wellness Check and questionnaire to ensure good health and readiness for patient care.

• Pre screening patients: A quick health questionnaire will be completed.

• Virtual waiting room: You will have the option to check in for appointments from your car, in order to minimize contact with others.

• Masks: The beautiful smiles of all of our team members will be protected behind masks at all times. Please know that we are smiling behind our masks and are happy to see you!  Once inside the building, patients will need to wear a mask except for when they are receiving care. Anyone who accompanies you to the office must wear a mask at all times. This protects both you and the dental staff from possible virus transmission.

• Office cleaning: Dental offices have always been very clean!   We have always cleaned each patient station after every single patient.  We wipe down the chairs, surfaces, radiographic equipment, and tools with a strong yet EPA-approved disinfecting solution after each use.  We use lots of suction and clean water to reduce aerosols coming out of the mouth.  We continue to sterilize instruments and equipment between each patient in the manner appropriate for that material. Our water is not only distilled but each station has its own charcoal filter to make sure that only the very cleanest water gets into your child's mouth.
  
  In addition to those processes that are not new, we have now invested in centralized HEPA filters and air purifiers for the public spaces in our office.  We found low-aerosol ways to do cleanings.  Even the toys and furniture we have chosen for the Bluebird Lounge are easy to wash!  Weekly we perform a deep cleaning of floors, walls, doors, and moldings.

UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS:

Personal protective gear such as safety glasses, gloves, and masks have been in use by dentists and their staff for decades. The added precautions your dentist is taking, including having you and other patients wear a mask, practice social distancing, and agree to be pre-screened, are there to help keep you and the team safe and secure.

Please know that we adhere to the recommendations of the North Carolina State Dental Board, OSHA, and the CDC.  We work hard to stay up to date with the most advanced safety protocols.
